MPRO’s post-acute quality improvement services and resources include a comprehensive depth of knowledge and evidence-based resources that are built on MPRO’s longstanding tradition of the state of Michigan’s leading quality improvement organizations. Key capabilities and experience include participation in the national Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative and the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes campaign, longtime familiarity and leadership in the quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) standards, technical assistance with best practice intervention packages and Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS), reductions in antipsychotic medications, patient mobility, reductions in the use of restraints, quality data reporting, maximizing the use of quality data, workflow strategies and root cause analysis.

May Leonard, R.N., BSN, MSBA, CPHQ

​May Leonard is the senior vice president & chief operations officer and provides oversight and direction for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) work. She has extensive experience in healthcare quality improvement, care coordination, process redesign, culture change, contract compliance and managed care. Ms. Leonard also serves as a key MPRO contact to facilitate collaboration between local, regional and national partners and stakeholders.

Dianne McCagg, APRN, MSN

Dianne McCagg is a senior clinical quality consultant and works on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) Improving Antibiotic Stewardship in the Ouptatient Setting, Improving Nursing Home Care and Increasing Adult Immunizations initiatives.
