MPRO Receives Technology Innovation Award
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., October 8, 2018 – MPRO is pleased to announce that it received a 2018 Technology Innovation Award at Tech Impact’s TechForward conference in Austin, Texas.
The Technology Innovation Award was awarded to MPRO for a proposed project to create a database to identify outlier opioid prescribers and improve their prescribing practices through education and technical assistance. The project is scheduled to begin in November and extend into 2019.
“We at MPRO are keenly aware of the epidemic of opioid overdoses and overprescribing that currently grips the nation. We plan to work at the root of the problem – curtailing the overuse of opioid prescriptions that often leads to the use of other, more potent medications and illegal narcotics amongst patients,” said Dr. Leland Babitch, president and CEO of MPRO.
MPRO’s award was one of two grants selected by Tech Impact to receive an award out of almost 100 entries.
