Director, Quality Initiatives
Mabel Leonard is a director for Quality Initiatives and has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry and more than 15 years in project management, healthcare quality improvement, contract compliance monitoring, managed care and external quality review (EQR). Ms. Leonard has developed multiple projects using the quality improvement model/framework to enhance patient care.
As a director, she leads teams in implementing the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) contract. She assists her teams in developing integrated strategies and recruiting Michigan acute care providers, post-acute care providers and stakeholders including community-based organizations aimed at improving the patient care experience and health outcomes. Ms. Leonard works collaboratively with multiple key stakeholders including the Michigan Health and Hospital Association (MHA), MHA Keystone, Area Agencies on Aging and the Michigan Department of Community Health. In her previous position as a senior project manager, she led the implementation of a Special Innovation Project: A Three Pronged Approach to Reduce 30-Day Rehospitalizations.
