Improving Individual Patient Care
MPRO, Michigan’s Quality Improvement Organization, assists state providers in the hospital and nursing home settings to improve care processes. The current Initiatives offer a collaborative approach to reducing patient harm through Learning and Action Networks (LAN). These collaborative resources are designed to help providers implement best practices and connect participants to national initiative activities and resources. Under the “Improve Individual Patient Care Initiative” defined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), MPRO assists selected providers to:
- Reduce rates of health care-associated infections including CAUTI, CDI and SSI in hospitals;
- Lower rates of pressure ulcers , physical restraints and other healthcare- associated conditions in nursing homes;
- Reduce adverse drug events in communities;
- Improve accuracy in quality data reporting for hospitals
The multi-approach goals of this Improve Individual Patient Care Initiative align with the National Healthcare Quality Strategy and Partnership for Patients Campaign.
