MPRO Receives National Quality Honor
Michigan Health Care Quality Organization Awarded Michigan Quality Council Lighthouse Recognition
Farmington Hills, MI June 8, 2006 – MPRO, Michigan’s Health Care Quality Improvement Organization, was recently awarded the Michigan Quality Council (MQC) Lighthouse Recognition Award. MPRO is beginning the process towards the adoption of Total Quality Management principles and applying for the Michigan Quality Leadership Award, patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The MQC provides information, feedback, training, and referrals to assist Michigan organizations in improving quality, customer satisfaction, and other results. The mission of the Michigan Quality Council is to help organizations improve their performance using the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. The MQC does this by:
- Evaluating organizations and providing feedback on strengths and improvement areas;
- Identifying and promoting best practices;
- Providing professional development;
- Recognizing exemplary performance; and
- Providing consulting in partnership with others.
MPRO has been at the vanguard of health care quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across the entire continuum of care since 1984.
