Introduction
MPRO and Governor Granholm continue to formally honor extraordinary hospitals that are active in quality improvement for adult care. Exceptional health care providers have the opportunity to be recognized with the Governor's Award for Improving Patient Safety and the Quality of Care in the Hospital Setting.
The criteria for the Governor's Award for Improving Patient Safety and the Quality of Care in the Hospital Setting are based on MPRO's Hospital Quality Improvement Projects. The 8SOW clinical projects measured in the awards have been designated as national health care priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Hospitals may nominate themselves for one or more award:
- Appropriate Care Measure (ACM) Award
- Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) Award
- AV Fistula Award
- Systems Improvement – Health Information Technology (HIT) Award
Recognition
Award recipients will be recognized at the Governor's Award ceremony. To promote the recipients' exceptional accomplishments, MPRO will launch a media campaign to announce the recipients as well as provide turn-key press kits to coordinate and enhance the recipients' media exposure. Articles about the award recipients will be sent to major newspapers, health-related newsletters and magazines. Award recipients will be also highlighted in MPRO's publications and Web site.
