Biography
Margaret Marchak, JD, MBA, is in private practice with Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, PLLC in Troy, Michigan. The firm is one of the largest health care law firms nationally with offices in four states. Ms. Marchak primarily represents health care providers with a particular interest in technology law, including electronic health records, software licensing, health information exchange, IT outsourcing, HIPAA privacy and security and e-commerce. Ms Marchak has been assisting entities in the planning and implementation of regional health information exchange in Michigan. As part of her practice, she has also handled many health care provider transactional matters, governance matters in nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations, fraud and abuse issues, physician compensation and recruitment, and corporate compliance programs.
Ms. Marchak is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law where she taught Health Law and eHealth Law. She has also served as adjunct professor in the Executive MBA Program for Health Care at Oakland University. She also serves as board member for local nonprofit health care institutions.
Ms. Marchak received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School.
