Biography
David E. Herbel, MBA, is the President and CEO of the Aging Services of Michigan. Mr. Herbel brings 25 years of healthcare experience including a proven track record in strategic planning, management and leadership. He began his career in Southeastern Michigan in an acute care hospital system followed by becoming involved in senior care as a partner in a senior retirement community. His commitment took him to Lansing where he further advanced the issues of seniors through regulatory affairs positions in associations.
Among his other leadership roles, Mr. Herbel was awarded the Public Service Award by the American College of Health Care Administrators-Michigan Chapter. Active in service, Mr. Herbel also has contributed his time and talents to state workgroups and commissions and was appointed to the White House Council on Aging.
Mr. Herbel earned his Masters in Public Administration through Central Michigan University. He is a Registered Lobbyist and Certified Association Executive.
