Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)
Overview
The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) Initiative assists physician practices in using EHR to report the PQRS program and receive Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) incentive monies.
Physician practices who participate in this initiative will receive direct technical assistance to report their chosen PQRS measures, directly from their PQRS-qualified EHR. The PQRS Initiative is rooted in preventive efforts and is focused on the following measures:
- Influenza Immunization for Patients ≥ 50 Years Old Preventive Care and Screening
- Pneumonia Vaccination for Patients 65 Years and Older Preventive Care and Screening
- Mammography Preventive Care and Screening
- Colorectal Cancer Preventive Care and Screening
- Tobacco Use: Screening and Cessation Intervention
- Hypertension: Blood Pressure Measurement
MPRO PQRS incentive program requirements and subsequent payment from CMS.
This incentive program funding is in addition to the “Meaningful Use” incentive program.
MPRO assistance will include:
- Process improvement/workflow redesign
- Documentation in reportable fields
- Report development
- Feedback reports
- Reminders/alerts
- Direct reporting assistance
