Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)

Overview

The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) Initiative assists physician practices in using EHR to report the PQRS program and receive Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) incentive monies.

 

Physician practices who participate in this initiative will receive direct technical assistance to report their chosen PQRS measures, directly from their PQRS-qualified EHR. The PQRS Initiative is rooted in preventive efforts and is focused on the following measures:

 

  • Influenza Immunization for Patients ≥ 50 Years Old Preventive Care and Screening
  • Pneumonia Vaccination for Patients 65 Years and Older Preventive Care and Screening
  • Mammography Preventive Care and Screening
  • Colorectal Cancer Preventive Care and Screening
  • Tobacco Use: Screening and Cessation Intervention
  • Hypertension: Blood Pressure Measurement

MPRO PQRS incentive program requirements and subsequent payment from CMS.

 

This incentive program funding is in addition to the “Meaningful Use” incentive program.

 

MPRO assistance will include:

 

  • Process improvement/workflow redesign
  • Documentation in reportable fields
  • Report development
  • Feedback reports
  • Reminders/alerts
  • Direct reporting assistance
